Today was the day we have been working towards - entertaining the people of Chelmsford at the Chelmsford Cathedral Lunchtime Concert. It has been a little while since we last performed at a lunchtime concert, so we were looking forward to it.

The programme had a range of pieces - from rousing ones such as American Trilogy to quieter ones such as Steal Away, and everything inbetween. The audience were very appreciative of the choir and enjoyed the range of songs. There were lots of calls of 'more' at the end, but sadly there was no time for this. The audience were informed that they could hear more at CMVC's next performances - Great Waltham Choir Festival on 5th June and then on 4th July when they are guests of Braintree Voices at Pleshey.

Some of our 'retired' members were in the audience and it was lovely to see them, especially Ron Harding who will be celebrating his 100th birthday next year.

A huge thank you must go to Clare Benson who accompanied yhe choir as our usual accompanist was sadly unavailable.
