We were delighted to be asked to join Men2Sing and the Chelmsford Citadel Band to celebrate 140 years of the Salvation Army.
Men2Sing entertained the audience with their renditions of songs such as I'm Still Standing, Human and 500 miles. They have a unique sound and sing pieces arranged by their musical director - John Trent Wallace. They are accompanied by a backing track with live piano, played by Clare Penfold.
The band delighted the audience with their pieces, most of which were based on lyrics from Psalms and Hymns including All Creatures Of Our God and King and 23rd Psalm in an arrangement by Howard Goodall (you may have recognised it as the theme to Vicar of Dibley)
.
Chelmsford Male Voice Choir were ably accompanied by Claire Howell. They sang songs from musical theatre - such as If I Was A Rich Man - and some of their favourite 'big numbers' which included African Prayer.
Each half was finished with a joint number - Bui Doi and then Gwahoddiad.
The final number of the whole concert was You'll Never Walk Alone - performed by the 2 choirs and 1 band.
Many thanks who came to support us.
You can next hear CMVC when they perform at one of Chelmsford Cathsrals Friday Lunch time.concerts - 22nd May.
CMVC are then joining Braintree Voices for An Afternoon Of Song. This concert is taking place in a beautiful barn in Pleshey and the ticket price includes a Ploughman's Platter. Early Bird Tickets are available until 30th April, so get yours quickly.
